I love the needlessness of this door.
I don’t know how the rest of the rooms are laid out but simply based on this photo the door seems superfluous (yet wonderful).  If it was for privacy then the double-sided bookcase should have been reconsidered and without the door the adjacent room would receive more light from the floor to ceiling windows but the fact that it’s there purely for the form factor … I like it!

There’s something about double doors that make everything feel just a little grander.  It’s as if the act of grasping the two handles and swinging the doors away creates a special moment, a sense of expectancy, as if there is a surprise just through the threshold.
On a side note, this is what I dream about my home (one day, sooooon?!) in Europe looking like.
